This book records a historical view of the primitive peoples of Northern Hispania, a territory that was never fully controlled by the Saracens, who called it Gallaecia. The creation of the Kingdom of Leon concentrated these peoples under a single political entity, highlighting the role that the territory played as the principal setting for the Reconquista until the liberation of Toledo in the late 11th century.
