CRÓNICA DE UN CORAZÓN

The heart, central body, headquarters of feelings, intelligence and intuition, in short the triangle of life, is the most pronounced word in all cultures and languages. A challenge that goes further than the organic feelings: philosophers, scientifics, writers, humanists, singers, musicians... they all have tried to explain all throughout history, a wide range of aspects that belong to the most intimate of human beings and that cannot be overlooked. In the process of creation of my pieces, I was interested in gathering this. information that will become part of the titles of some of my works. 

He created the symbol of a heart as a meeting place for the intimate renovation, an spitiritual challenge. Looking at these hearts we can see that in them decisions, thoughts, worries and prayers, flow. Continous dialogues in order to live, dialogues to die, the dynamic activity of our sol, the systole and diastole that move the universe.

I started making my first hearts in 2003, they were small, of about 15 cm, that is when I made a series of 8, my first and last composition of those measurements. Seeing the results, at first I started making hearts in an obsessive and cathartic way that tried to fill entire walls. It was at that moments that I deided to change their size. I usually work with high-temperature clay in a flat dimension made by mixing different techniques for the different finishes. Raku ware is the technique that best defines my works.

Spontaneity and intimacy united at the same time, a system of trial and error, an act of the creation of nature that exists inside each and everyone of us. When I see all the process of melting of the varnishes while I take out these burning hearts out of the heat of the kiln, and when I see how they cool instantly, I see their relation with their own life.

Because of this, I mainly use recycled wood, boards, doors and trunks as my raw material and as the basis to introduce my compositions. I also look for in metals and their rusting, a natural union with the hearts that at one point or another try to look for their space.

I offer these hearts as exvotos to reconcile and I hope that their content along with all the differemt intepretations and clarifications that it has, are able to do what they were made for: break cuirasses, look at ourselves, make us love and share. In short, be more human.

An exhibition that travels through senses, the soul, instincts, sadness and joy. Opening and closing door.

What better time than now, to give thanks from my heart to all the people that are close to me and that concious or unconciously have supported me so that this project was able to move forward.
